This handy unit is compatible with Vantage Pro2, Weather Monitor II and Weather Wizard III rain collectors. The heater protects the internal components of a rain collector from freezing and is capable of melting snow at a rate of 0.25 inches of liquid precipitation per hour, allowing you to measure the moisture content of the snowfall.
The Rain Collector Heater warms the inside of the rain bucket. For extreme weather conditions, it may be necessary to add a lamp or heater beneath the collector unit to keep the drains open (see instruction manual for details.)
